In spring 2014, the Municipality modified the spray park in Des Mésanges Park to reduce the amount of water used. The data for 2013 showed that water consumption had exceeded the manufacturer’s specifications. In light of that unsatisfactory finding, the municipal council ordered an evaluation of various scenarios for reducing water consumption to an acceptable amount. A proposal was made to modify one structure, replace four nozzles in the spray tunnel and reprogram the control panel to shorten the duration of each spray.
The municipal council is pleased to learn that the modifications were successful according to data for 2014. Water consumption decreased 22%, even though usage time increased 42% (349 hours in 2014 versus 245 hours in 2013).
