Branches

Starting in 2024, there will be three branch collections per year in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, in April, May, and October. This service is offered free of charge (for properties excluding vacant lots) if the volume of branches does not exceed 5 ft x 5 ft x 16 ft (with a maximum diameter of 4 inches). For the safety of employees, branches must be at least 4 ft long.

These collections begin on the second Monday of the month and usually last 5 to 7 days.

Important: Additional collections will be scheduled in the event of strong winds that cause numerous branches to break.

Branches must be placed at the curb no more than one week before the collection day. They should be arranged neatly, with the trunk facing forward toward the road, and must not encroach on the street.

If the volume of branches exceeds the stated maximum, the Municipality will charge a fee. In this case, you must call Land Management one week before the start of the collection, to get an estimate. Once the fee has been paid, the branches will be collected as part of the regular collection.

NOTE : Volumes of branches greater than the maximum will be collected only if the fee has been paid. Remember that you must obtain a municipal permit before you cut down a tree. The branches are collected and turned into mulch, which the Municipality makes available to residents. For more information, contact our Guichet unique or Public Works at 514-453-4128.
