Inauguration of the temporary fire house on September 2021
As part of the new fire service agreement with the Pincourt’s fire department, which came into effect on September 7, the City of Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot Council, in the presence of Pincourt’s elected officials and the management team of the new joint fire department, inaugurated the temporary fire station located on rue Huot in the NDIP industrial district.
This fire station will house the trucks and equipment of the future fire station and will ensure optimal service to all sectors of NDIP until the permanent fire station becomes operational.

The mayor of Notre-Dame-de-l’Île finally sees years of effort pay off. “It is with great enthusiasm that we salute the new collaboration between Pincourt and Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot concerning fire safety and response to medical emergencies. We are convinced that this new service responds to a public safety issue and that from now on, all our citizens, in all sectors of NDIP, will be able to count on response times that meet the requirements.”
The project for a new fire station at the intersection of Don-Quichotte and Saint-Joseph boulevards is progressing well, despite delays in obtaining permits. The opening is scheduled for 2022. In the meantime, the service of first responders and fire protection will be provided from the temporary fire station on rue Huot , or fire station 26. Twenty local and experienced firefighters have been added to the forty. members of the current emergency service in order to improve response time to interventions.
All parties to the agreement welcome this intermunicipal collaboration. “Through this agreement, the City of Pincourt is proud to share the fire service with the City of Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, while continuing to offer the same quality of service here in Pincourt” , underlines Yvan Cardinal, mayor of Pincourt. In addition, the management of the emergency service is convinced that this mutual collaboration project between the two cities will be a success. This union will make it possible to meet all the requirements set out in the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges risk coverage plan, to the benefit of the population served.
NDIP City Council thanks the employees of the L’Île-Perrot Fire Department for the services rendered in recent years. NDIP elected representatives also reiterate their desire to bring together all the fire services, with a network of fire stations strategically distributed to ensure optimal protection for all residents of the island.
The new territory served by the NDIP and Pincourt joint fire department will cover an estimated population of nearly 27,000 inhabitants, the second largest in the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges to be covered by an emergency and fire protection service.
